Today, we honor the memory of Retired K9 Officer Otto, who left us one year ago today, October 17, 2023. Otto was more than just a loyal partner to Sergeant Michael Moran - he was a beloved member of our law enforcement family.
Born in April 2013, Otto thrived for 11 wonderful years. He began his career with Sgt. Moran in the summer of 2014 and went on to complete extensive training, including a 200-hour Basic Patrol School and certifications in Narcotics Detection and Urban Tracking.
Throughout his service, Otto was trained in obedience, tracking, building, area, and article searches, apprehension, and narcotics detection. His skills and loyalty made him an invaluable asset to our department.
After retiring from service in January 2020, Otto lived out the remainder of his life with Sgt. Moran and his family, surrounded by love and care.
We take a moment to remember Otto's dedication, bravery, and the unwavering companionship he provided to Sgt. Moran and our entire department. Rest in peace, Otto.
