The Montezuma‑Cortez Dispatch Center, housed in the Cortez Police Department, is seeking dedicated individuals to join our team.
Beginning pay: $23.57/hour
Serve as the vital link between the public and police, fire, and EMS services
Receive, document, and relay routine and emergency calls across Montezuma County
Complete classroom courses, online training, and three months of on‑the‑job training
Maintain required certifications to serve as a dispatcher
✅ Minimum Requirements
At least 18 years of age
High School Diploma or GED
Ability to speak, write, and comprehend English
Typing speed of 35 wpm
Colorado Driver’s License (or ability to obtain)
Availability to work holidays and rotating shifts, including nights, days, and weekends
