Sheriff Steve Nowlin and the Board of County Commissioners have announced a fire ban for Montezuma County will go into effect on May 25, 2022, at 6:00 AM. For more information visit the Montezuma County Sheriff's Office website here.

The US Forest Service will be entering into Stage 1 Fire Restrictions on Friday, May 20, 2022, five days earlier than scheduled due to dry conditions in the forests. BLM may or may not implement Stage 1 Fire Restrictions on the 20^th, but was planning on implementing it on May 25, 2022.
