If you love the statistical data, have a look at the numbers from the Montezuma-Cortez Dispatch on the 4th of July!

During the 27-hour period between the 4th of July (12 am) until 3 am on July 5th - there were 187 CAD (Computer Aided Dispatch) calls for service along with associated radio traffic. 

92 were incoming 911 calls and 45 of those 911 calls happened between 8 pm and midnight with only THREE dispatchers.  A 4th dispatcher was on the property celebrating with her family and jumped on to help out her team without hesitation. 

During the 4-hour window between 8 pm and midnight, there were 55 CAD calls for service.  (fire, emergency services/medical, traffic accidents, disturbances)

Dispatchers averaged about 400 spoken transactions during the high volume of calls. 

Although not recognized as first responders (yet), this team deserves a round of applause for prioritizing the number of calls with professionalism and calm confidence!
