10/2/24 - Next court date is set for 10/25/24 - the teen is still in custody at Grand Mesa Youth Services.
7/24/24 - The teen will remain in custody. The next court date and detention hearing is set for August 21.
A call about suspicious activity and shots fired at a vehicle leads to the arrest of another teen with a gun.
Officers were advised of a suspect who was located in the parking lot of Front Row Seat on Sunday afternoon about 3 pm. The teen fled and was seen by Sgt. Baumgartner placing something on the ground by a bush in the area of Park Street and Montezuma Avenue. The teen, who has an arrest warrant out of Archuleta County was placed under arrest and had a magazine loaded with .45mm auto rounds in his pocket. A .45 caliber handgun, located with live rounds in it, was found in the bush where Sgt. Baumgartner had seen him bend to the ground.
Charged with possession of a handgun by a juvenile, obstruction of justice, unlawfully carrying a concealed weapon, and felony menacing, the minor was arrested and taken to Grand Mesa Youth Services in Grand Junction. He is set to appear by video in the Montezuma Combined Courts tomorrow (Tuesday 7/9).
