10 Year Sentence for Fentanyl Distribution
Shanea Sheree Arellano received a 10-year prison sentence for the distribution of Fentanyl. Arellano was also charged with possession with intent to distribute methamphetamine, possession of a counterfeit substance, and a special offender violation, however, those charges were dropped as a result of a plea agreement.
On January 6, 2022, the Cortez Police Department assisted the Cortez-Montezuma Narcotics Team to execute a search warrant on Arellano's home in Cortez. The search revealed 677 suspected fentanyl pills, 4.5 grams of suspected meth, scales and baggies, $2,246.00 in US currency, and two handguns, one of which was stolen out of New Mexico.
