The Cortez Police Department received information from the FBI about a possible school threat and that the subject may be in the area.  The RE-1 School District issued a lockdown for the Montezuma-Cortez High School and all other schools in the district went into lockout as a precaution.  

At about 3:15p the Cortez Police Department received information that the suspect was out of the area and the security threat was lifted.
