Search Warrant Executed

On Wednesday, August 31st, 2022, Detective(s) with the A.C.E.T. unit along with Officer(s) from the Craig Police Department, and Deputy(s) from the Moffat County Sheriff’s Office, executed a search warrant at 815 Colorado Street.

This search warrant was the result of an extensive investigation into suspected drug activities at this location. Upon the execution, numerous drugs were located to include:

  • Methamphetamine - a stimulant, usually snorted, injected, or smoked.
  • Fentanyl - a synthetic opioid that is 50-100 times stronger than morphine.

The fentanyl, pictured here, was discovered in pill form. The pill is light blue with an “M” on one side and “30” on the other side. Fentanyl has been in the national media for some time now, and was reported to have been the cause of an estimated 107,622 drug overdoses in 2021. These overdoses led to 80,816 deaths across the United States in 2021.

In Colorado, for the first five months of 2022, more fentanyl has been seized than all of 2021. Fentanyl has also recently been seen in Colorado as “Brightly-Colored” pills like the below picture.

The DEA warns that this fentanyl is being used to target young Americans.
