On July 24, 2017 the Solebury Township Police were dispatched to the Rite Aid store located off the 6500 block of Route 202 in regards to a subject passing a suspected counterfeit $100.00 bill. During the course of this investigation it was known that a black male subject fled the store on foot after being questioned by employees in regards to the bill’s legitimacy.

An employee of Rite Aid obtained a physical description of the subject and a vehicle he was observed getting into. The subject and vehicle description was dispatched over police radio. Buckingham Township Police Cpl. W. Moffett observed a vehicle and occupant matching the description in the area of Route 413 and Route 263. The passenger in this vehicle was identified by a store employee as the same person who passed the counterfeit bill.

Eligio Mateo a 20 year old male from Bronx, NY was taken into custody and arraigned by District Court Judge Snow. Mateo was unable to post 10% of $50,000.00 at which time he was housed at Bucks County Prison.
