The Cortez Rendezvous Balloon Rally is taking to the skies this weekend: August 7, 8 & 9! We’re excited to welcome visitors and residents and want to remind everyone to drive safely while hot air balloons fill the Cortez skies. 

🎈 Morning Launches (Friday, Saturday, Sunday):
Daily at approximately 6:30 AM in Parque de Vida
 

Friday Evening Events – August 7 (5:30 PM–~10 PM):
• Summer Send Off
• Colorado Stories in the Sky Drone Show
• Evening Balloon Glow

As you’re out and about or driving around town, we know the sight of dozens of colorful balloons rising into the morning sky is tempting to watch. But please, for everyone’s safety:
➡️ If you’d like to look at the balloons, pull over safely and stop your vehicle.
➡️ Do not watch while driving. Even a moment of distraction can cause a serious crash.
Throughout the weekend, families, children, seniors, and many pedestrians will be in and around Parque de Vida, and with the Cortez Farmer’s Market taking place on Saturday, August 8th at the corner of Mildred and Empire in the Children’s Kiva parking lot, please slow down, stay alert, and watch for increased foot traffic throughout the area.
