On June 2, 2026, at 10:16 p.m., a West Earl Township Police officer was conducting a speed enforcement operation in the 900 block of West Main Street, Earl Township. During this detail, the Officer noticed a white Kia Optima exceeding the posted speed limit of 35 miles per hour, traveling at 52 miles per hour. The Officer initiated a traffic stop, identifying the driver as Dequan Gant. Further investigation revealed that Gant's privileges had been suspended since March of 2026. Additionally, the Officer found Gant to be in possession of marijuana. As a result, Dequan Gant is facing charges, filed by Officer Reifsnyder, before District Judge Jonathan Heisse, for possession of marijuana, driving with suspended operating privieges due to DUI, and exceeding maximum speed limits.
