Important Update: New Speed Limit Zones in Cortez!

The Colorado Department of Transportation (CDOT) has changed the speed limit zones and signs on major corridors in Cortez, aiming to reduce traffic speed and enhance road safety.

Specifically, changes have been implemented on Highway 491 (North and South Broadway Streets) and on Main Street (Highway 160). These updates are part of the national Safe Streets for All program, which strives for a Vision Zero goal of zero traffic fatalities.

As you travel through Cortez, please be aware of these changes and adjust your speed accordingly. This is a crucial step towards creating safer roads for all users, including bicyclists, pedestrians, and drivers.
