We're excited to announce that our drone program is officially back up and running! Our previous drone took a tumble and is no longer with us but the new, more advanced drone has all the capabilities we need for law enforcement and rescue missions.

Check out these amazing thermal images captured by our new drone during a vehicle vs. deer traffic accident near Hawkins Preserve that occurred on December 11, 2024. Notice the incredible detail, even in the dark sky!

Special shoutout to Officer Smith, who has his FAA certification and is looking forward to continuing education classes that focus on how law enforcement can better use the drones.

Our new drone will be deployed in various situations, including:

• Public safety and lifesaving missions (barricaded suspects, hostage situations, fleeing dangerous suspects, and high-risk search warrants)

• Lost or missing persons

• Rescues in hard-to-reach areas or canyons

• Suspected explosive devices

• Special events or other agency assistance

We're thrilled to have this valuable tool back in action to help keep our community safe.
