Sgt. Brent Jarmon attended the 4th Annual Great Plains Field of Honor in Ft. Lupton, Colorado on April 20, 2024.  The field of American flags is part of the national effort to recognize veterans and first responders who 'have earned our gratitude' in the past and present. 
Jarmon received a flag for the Cortez Police Department in honor of fallen hero, Sgt. Michael Moran who proudly served in the Marines for 9 years, including two tours in Iraq. Sgt. Moran was killed in the line of duty on November 29, 2023 after initiating a traffic stop. He is greatly missed by the department. 

Multiple events are planned for the week of May 12th-18th to honor the loss of Sgt. Moran including National Police Week in Washington DC, the Tour De Shield616 ride on the front range and an event at Eagle Springs Ranch in Durango.
