The 2024 Regional Futures Fair, presented this year by the Southwest Colorado Education Collaborative was a great way for the Cortez Police Department and over 70 businesses and career opportunities to connect with high school students.  The Fair was held at the Montezuma County Fairgrounds and was attended by students from Cortez, Dolores, Dove Creek, and Mancos high schools.  

Officers Ross and Yen and Detective Cannon encouraged questions, took photos with the teens, and shared their stories about their time in the police academy.  Many students were interested in participating in a Junior Citizens Academy and learned about texting 911 and submitting tips through the Crimewatch mobile app.
