Congratulations to Officer Kyle Post who has been awarded our first Officer of the Quarter for 2024.
On February 29th, Officer Post responded to a call on Rt. 26 involving a distressed male sitting over the guardrail above Rt. 434.
The male, who was expressing suicidal thoughts, was initially resistant to Officer Posts attempt to communicate but thanks to his calm demeanor and persistence, Officer Post was able to establish a dialogue and the male eventually agreed to come back across the guardrail to the roadway.
The Vestal Police aided the male in getting some necessary mental health services.
During his still young career, Officer Post has been a proactive leader in the enforcement of impaired driving. His 33 impaired driving arrests in 2023 have earned him recognition from Mothers Against Drunk Driving, Stop-DWI and the Governors Traffic Safety Committee.
On Wednesday, May 1st, Officer Post will receive an award at the 2024 Annual New York State Law Enforcement Recognition Luncheon in Albany New York.
Congratulations Officer Post and thank you for your commitment to the safety of the citizens in our community.
