On the afternoon of 9/10/23, Cortez Police responded to two vehicle break-in calls. One break-in occurred on Andrew Lane where the victim said someone had been in their vehicle between 11:30p and noon on 9/10. The victim stated they were missing some change and their extra truck key fob. Security cameras captured two suspects that police are attempting to identify.

The second break-in occurred on South Market Street. The victim stated the break-in occurred the night before, and an outdoor knife kit and priceless CDs were taken. Both victims thought they had locked their vehicles. 

The Cortez Police Department asks residents to be vigilant about locking their vehicles, removing items of value or importance, and reviewing security camera footage. Security lighting can also ward off potential theft!
