The police department is commanded by Chief Scott Bendig. He is assisted by three Lieutenants - Patrol Lieutenant Jim Robb, Investigative Lieutenant Todd Smith and Administrative Lieutenant Kelly Ruddell. In addition to the command staff, the police department consists of thirty-four sworn officers. Patrol is staffed by four patrol squads of five or six officers, with each squad supervised by a Patrol Sergeant. Our Patrol Sergeants are Sergeant Tim Lynch, Sergeant John McCleary, Sergeant Mark Bouldin and Sergeant Andrew Clauhs. The UMPD K9 unit works with Patrol and consists of three Officers and their K9 partners. Criminal Investigations is staffed by three detectives and supervised by Lieutenant Todd Smith. The Traffic and Community Policing Unit is staffed by Sergeant Pamela Cordura, as well as two Traffic Safety Unit Officers and a Training Officer. The UMPD employs five civilian desk clerks and a command staff administrative assistant who are all supervised by Lieutenant Ruddell.
