This is car seat safety week and today is about car seat expiration dates. All car seats have an expiration date. Most expiration dates will be found on the manufacturing label that is on the car seat. If it is not you can contact the car seat manufacturer to find out.
You may ask why is that? Over time car seats will start to break down or weaken due to wear and tear, changes in temperature and just daily use. Older car seats may not meet the latest safety standards.
If you would like to schedule an appointment to have your child's car seat checked by a certified technician, please contact Tracy Fox at 570-421-6800 Ext. 1094 or email her at tfox@sarpd.com. This service is offered for free by the Stroud Area Regional Police Department.
