On March 5, 2026, at 2:59 pm, SARPD was dispatched to a 2-vehicle crash with injuries and entrapment on North 9th Street at Wigwam Park Road in Stroud Township.  

SARPD units arrived on scene and discovered a head on collision with a single occupant in each vehicle.  A female driver was found to be operating a grey Kia, and a male driver was found to be operating a black Nissan Rogue. Both drivers were found to have life threatening injuries and medical attention was immediately provided by Police and EMS personnel.  

Preliminary investigation revealed that the female was driving a Kia southbound on N. 9th Street and crossed into the northbound lane striking the Nissan head-on.  Both drivers were extricated from their vehicles and transported to local hospitals for treatment.  Shortly after arrival at the hospital, the female driver was pronounced deceased.  

The female driver was identified as Sharlin FORESTIER, a 32 year old female from Tobyhanna.  An autopsy was scheduled on March 6 at Lehigh Valley Hospital.  Cause of death was ruled as blunt force trauma by the Monroe County Coroner.  

This accident is currently under investigation by the Stroud Area Regional Police Department's Collision Reconstruction Team.   If anyone has any information pertaining to the crash or witnessed the crash, they are asked to "Submit a tip" for the investigating officer.
