Officer Lucas of the Lycoming Regional Police Department recently visited the Crossroads Child Learning Center, where she spoke to a group of enthusiastic school-age daycare students. During her presentation, Officer Lucas showcased the essential gear utilized by law enforcement officers, providing the children with a unique opportunity to learn about the tools of the trade.
The highlight of the event was when Officer Lucas allowed the students to explore the police cruiser, giving them a firsthand look at the vehicle's features. To further enhance the educational experience, Officer Lucas had a student volunteer to participate in a demonstration, illustrating how an officer would safely handcuff an individual being detained.
This interactive and engaging presentation not only taught the students about the role of law enforcement but also helped build a positive relationship between the police department and the community's youth.
