**UPDATE**

Thank you to the public for their assistance. The female involved in this incident has now been identified.  Our officers are continuing to work through the remaining steps to conclude the incident.

The Lycoming Regional Police Department is seeking the public’s help in identifying a female involved in a suspicious incident at a local daycare facility in the Jersey Shore area, on December 17, 2025 in the late morning.

Daycare staff reported that an unidentified female attempted to gain entry into the secure facility while trying to leave a young child—believed to be approximately 3 years old, possibly older—in their care. The daycare staff confirmed the female and child are not registered at the facility.  The female and child left the area prior to police arrival.  The female was last seen operating a blue four‑door sedan and stated she was returning to the Altoona area.

Photos of the female, child, and vehicle were obtained.  We were unable to obtain a readable registration plate from the vehicle.
