While students are enjoying summer vacation, preparation for the new school year is already underway.

This week, Manheim Township Police Officers trained alongside Manheim Township School District administrators and staff in realistic school emergency scenarios.  Together, we practiced communication, coordination, and response so that every member of our team understands their role during a critical incident.

These exercises strengthen the partnerships that already exist between our schools and first responders.  Although we hope these plans never need to be put into action, there is no substitute for realistic training and preparation.

When students walk through our school doors this fall, they can do so knowing that the people responsible for their safety have spent the summer preparing to protect them.
