At last night's Manheim Township Commissioner's meeting, the new Board of Commissioners welcomed two new police officers as they joined our ranks. Officer Brandon Beedle and Officer Seth Godfrey were both sworn in. Officer Nathan Daggett was also promoted to the rank of Corporal. Here is what Chief Fisher had to say about these officers:
Officer Seth Godfrey is a native of York, PA. He is a 2015 graduate of Penn State University with a Bachelor’s in Chinese. Officer Godfrey served our country as a Linguist in the United States Marine Corps. He successfully graduated from the Reading Police Academy on December 22, 2023, and we are thrilled to have him contribute to our department. His badge will be pinned by his wife, Erin.
Officer Brandon Beedle is a 2021 graduate of Pensacola Christian College with a Bachelor's degree in Criminal Justice. He also completed his training at the Reading Police Academy on December 22. Officer Beedle enjoys gaming, cars, and traveling with his wife in his off time. He said that he is thrilled to begin his career with the MTPD. His wife, Jennifer, will be pinning his badge.
In addition to these new officers, we proudly acknowledge the promotion of Corporal Nathan Daggett. Born and raised in Lancaster County, Corporal Daggett graduated from Penn Manor in 1991 and served in the United States Marine Corps. In 2002, he graduated from Millersville University with a Bachelor of Arts in English. Corporal Daggett joined the department in 2010 and currently serves in the patrol division. In 2019, he received the Meritorious Award for his actions in evacuating residents from an apartment building while it was on fire. He will assume supervision duties of the 2nd Platoon under Sergeant Naff. His badge will be pinned by his daughter, Emma.
