The Manheim Township Police Department was recently treated to a visit by Alex Mann, of Chester County, as part of his tour of police departments in Pennsylvania. In the past 2 1/2 years, Alex has put over 5,000 miles on his car visiting police stations within driving distance of his home in Malvern, Pennsylvania. Manheim Township was the 202^nd Police Department to be visited by Alex, who has autism and whose life’s mission is to promote autism awareness throughout the state.

Alex received a tour of the police station by Officer Natalie Littlehale, and learned more about MTPD vehicles, police equipment, and the community (Manheim Township) that MTPD protects and serves.

He then met with Chief Rudzinski, who presented him with a department patch, challenge coin, and coffee mug. Alex talked to the Chief about his visits throughout the state, explaining that he wanted officers to know that he supports them while at the same time educating them about autism.

“These visits go a long way towards showing police officers that the community supports them, and we appreciate that he is also spreading the word about people with disabilities. Alex is a good person with a good heart, and I wish him all the best with completing his mission of autism awareness.” – Chief Rudzinski
