UPDATE - ARREST MADE!

UPDATE: 11:48 a.m., Saturday, May 23, 2026 ::: Aggravated Assault (F1), Aggravated Assault (F2), Firearms Not to Be Carried Without License (F3), Discharge of Firearm into Occupied Structure (F3), Propulsion of Missiles into Occupied Vehicle (M1) Arrest, May 23, 2026, Bloomingdale Avenue at Serling Place (MT) – Maurice Martice Thomas, M/42, of York, PA, was charged with the above offenses following this incident.  Within two (2) days of the incident, investigators were able to identify Thomas as the suspect and obtained a warrant for his arrest.  Thomas was located in York, PA, where he was taken into custody without incident.  As of this press release, Thomas is being transported from York County to Lancaster County for processing and arraignment before a Magisterial District Judge.  Click here for arrest information pertaining to this incident.

At 4:52 p.m., on Thursday, May 21, 2026, Manheim Township Police were dispatched to the intersection of Bloomingdale Avenue and Sterling Place for shots fired.  Upon arrival, officers determined that this incident started as a traffic dispute, which led to a shooting.  Moments before, a red Jeep was traveling eastbound in the 300 block of Delp Road in Manheim Township.  The driver of the red Jeep interpreted the actions of an unknown white SUV as unsafe and blew their horn at the other driver.  The driver of the white SUV then began to follow the red Jeep to its destination the the Bloomingdale Development.  At the intersection of Bloomingdale Avenue and Sterling Place, an occupant of the unknown white SUV fired one shot at the red Jeep.  The round struck the rear end of the vehicle and entered the passenger compartment.  No occupants of the Jeep were injured and no other persons or property were struck.  The unknown white SUV then fled the area.  Investigators believe that this confrontation was an isolated "road rage" incident.
