Retail Theft Arrest, September 4, 2026, Target at 1589 Fruitville Pk (MT) – Nicholas P. Hurd, M/34 of Pequea, PA, was charged with the above offense following a response to a report of a shoplifter in progress. A security officer informed the police that Hurd had placed multiple video games in a plastic bag and put a piece of clothing over the games to conceal them. Hurd passed all points of sale without paying for the items in the bag. Hurd entered the bathroom with all the merchandise. The officer knocked and told him to open the door. He eventually came out with a bag of his belongings but no video games. The officer checked the bathroom and located the video games in the trash can. Hurd was detained. The total value of the stolen merchandise was $636.25. 

A criminal complaint was filed on September 4, 2026.  Nicholas P. Hurd was arraigned before MDJ Monson and committed to Lancaster County Prison in lieu of $10,000 bail.
