LITITZ BOROUGH - Tyler Weinoldt was sworn-in by Mayor George following his promotion to the rank of sergeant. Sgt. Tyler Weinoldt is a 10-year veteran of the Lititz Borough Police Department, hired in 2016. Sgt. Weinoldt holds an associate's degree in criminal justice from Harrisburg Area Community College, and graduated from the Harrisburg Area Community College Municipal Police Academy. Sgt. Weinoldt serves as a Field Training Officer, who administers initial in-house field training of newly-hired officers after being hired by the LBPD. Sgt. Weinoldt is also a Drug Recognition Expert (DRE) who is often requested to perform drug influence evaluations on drivers impaired by drugs other than, or in addition to, alcohol. Sgt. Weinoldt has been requested to assist in complex drug-impaired driving investigations both within Lancaster County and beyond, and has been qualified as an expert witness in the Lancaster County Court of Common Pleas, permitted to give expert testimony regarding drug impaired driving. Sgt. Weinoldt has received numerous recognitions for outstanding performance in impaired driving enforcement both at the County level and State level. Most recently, Sgt. Weinoldt was recognized by the PA DUI association for outstanding performance as a DRE and was also acknowledged by the International Association of Chiefs of Police in their annual report. Sgt. Weinoldt has demonstrated his commitment to excellence in policing and has demonstrated leadership both within the agency and the broader law enforcement community.
