LITITZ BOROUGH - The first block of North Cedar Street will be closing approximately the first week of March for a bridge replacement. The areas adjacent to the bridge will realize a closure of both the roadway and the sidewalk.
The vehicle detour route is posted and depicted on the attached mapping (green route). Vehicles needing to access the parking lots of LGH and Stoll & Wolf can still do so, but only from the north side of the bridge closure.
Pedestrians, including students waking to/from Lititz Elementary School, should walk along East Front Street, North Broad Street and East Main Street, and is also depicted on the attached mapping (yellow slotted line). There is a school crossing guard posted at the intersection of Cedar Street & East Main Street during school arrival and dismissal hours to assists students and their families crossing.
It is anticipated the bridge replacement project will be completed prior to the start of the 2022-2023 school year. The completion date may be impacted by weather and supply chain disruptions.
Motorists and pedestrians are encouraged to be aware of the closure and detour routes, plan their travel accordingly and allow extra travel time if they need to travel through the area.
