LITITZ BOROUGH – The Borough of Lititz will be transitioning to a ParkMobile parking solution for the Downtown District, moving away from the current parking meters.
WHY:
The Borough of Lititz and the Lititz Borough Police Department have received many complaints over the last few years about the current parking meters. Complaints included slow credit card processing time, confusion about the operations of the public-facing technology, and credit cards getting stuck inside the meters. Working with the current vendor, fixes and enhancements were explored and implemented to the extent possible. However, these same problems and complaints persisted. The Borough was faced with a decision: keep the existing meters in place with these known issues, or explore a new solution. The decision was made to move to a new system to both address these issues, but also enable other convenient features for parkers.
WHEN:
The current parking meters will be removed and the new ParkMobile signs will be installed starting on September 22, 2026 by Public Works (weather and conditions permitting). It is anticipated that this will be complete by the end of that week (September 25th). The kiosks are installed but will not be operational until ParkMobile goes live.
HOW WILL THE PARKMOBILE SYSTEM WORK:
Parkers will have multiple payment options, some of which were not available with the old parking meters.
