Lititz Borough – The Lititz Borough Police Department is thrilled to introduce new technology aimed at enhancing the connection between LBPD personnel and the community.
In the coming weeks, the LBPD will roll out an exciting initiative for community engagement in partnership with PowerEngage. This software is designed to keep citizens informed and provide a platform for gauging community satisfaction with the LBPD. Using text messaging, the PowerEngage software will reach out to citizens who have recently reported or been involved in non-life-threatening incidents, allowing the LBPD to deliver pertinent information, updates on their cases, and important notifications.
Additionally, the software includes a text-based satisfaction survey that will be sent to community members who have interacted with our officers. These messages will prompt community members to share their feedback and experiences, providing them with an opportunity to express their thoughts, offer comments, or even extend their gratitude to the responding officer. The feedback gathered through these messages will be analyzed to provide measurable data and insights into the community's perception of the services provided by the LBPD.
“I believe it is important for our agency to leverage technology in a way that benefits our community and our officers. The PowerEngage software will provide a new avenue for the LBPD to connect with our community and foster positive relationships,” said Detective Sergeant Stephen Detz. “The value of this software will be seen through the community insights into areas where we can improve our level of service while also providing a mechanism to boost Officer morale when positive responses are provided.”
The department will be sending out text surveys to members of the community whose phone numbers were recorded during a call for service or from an officer's report. If community members do not wish to participate in the surveys, they can choose not to respond to the message. Alternatively, they have the option to reply with "STOP" to opt out of all future text surveys from the department.
It is essential that everyone know that Power Engage should not be used to report any emergency or crime. As always, please call the LBPD at (717)626-6393 or 9-1-1 for any emergency or to report any criminal activity.
We would like to express our gratitude to all the community members who take the time to participate in these surveys and share their valuable feedback. The data collected through this software will offer valuable insights into the ways in which our police department interacts with and serves the community. This information will enable us to allocate our resources effectively and identify pertinent training programs for our officers.
