LITITZ BOROUGH - The LBPD patrol function responded to a residence in the 300 Block of South Broad Street on 08/23/2023 around 11:12 am. The resident reported that someone had just stolen the license plate off of their parked vehicle and they observed this person place the license plate on the vehicle that person arrived in. The vehicle then fled the area.

On 08/24/2023, the resident's license plate and the vehicle that the subject arrived in were located in New Jersey. The driver of that vehicle was taken into custody by New Jersey law enforcement. During the course of the investigation it was learned that the vehicle had been stolen in Manheim Township on 08/23/2023 prior to when the subject who stole it swapped the license plate with the plate belonging to the Lititz resident.

Criminal charges associated with this event are being handled by the New Jersey State Police.
