Lititz Borough - The LBPD remembers Chief Douglas A. Shertzer Sr., who was killed in the line of duty seventeen years ago today, May 11, 2004.  As always, our thoughts remain with his family and friends on the anniversary of his passing.  Chief Shertzer was killed in an on-duty motorcycle crash.  Chief Shertzer's name can be found engraved on the National Law Enforcement Memorial in Washington DC on panel 10-E: 24 and his helmet is on display at the National Law Enforcement Museum, also located in Washington DC.
