LITITZ BOROUGH - The LBPD provides multiple ways for people to make a report of crime or other incident. All emergency situations should be immediately report by calling 911. For non-emergency situations, reports and other requests, the LBPD utilizes a variety reporting options such as online reporting via LititzPD.org, public resource email accounts, telephone and in-person reporting initiated at the LBPD office, and direct contact with the Lancaster County-Wide Communications via the non-emergency police dispatch phone line.
It is important to know which options are available and when each option should be utilized. For example, utilizing a method other than 911 for an emergency could result in a delayed response when a rapid response is needed. Reversely, utilizing 911 for a non-emergency can commit emergency call takers and delay their ability to handle a call which is truly an emergency.
The LBPD is providing the attached graphic to detail various LBPD reporting options appropriate for a variety of situations.
