Operation Sober Shamrock is underway!
Today's press conference was a friendly reminder to our local communities that from March 6–17, law enforcement agencies across the region are participating in Operation Sober Shamrock, an impaired driving enforcement campaign focused on keeping roads safe during the St. Patrick’s Day holiday.
Celebrations are meant to be fun—but driving impaired puts everyone at risk.
Throughout the campaign, local departments will be increasing DUI patrols using trained Drug (and alcohol Recognition Experts-DREs) to deter impaired driving and protect our communities.
If you plan to celebrate, make a plan before you go:
• Use a ride-share service
• Call a taxi
• Arrange a designated driver
• Stay overnight where you are celebrating
• Use public transportation if available

Celebrate responsibly. Drive sober. Plan ahead.
