LITITZ BOROUGH – The LBPD is partnering with the Center for Traffic Safety to promote pedestrian safety during a special enforcement wave that began May 1 and runs through May 14.
The goal of this initiative is to not only enforce Pennsylvania’s laws but to also educate both the motorist and the pedestrian on how the law reads and how both can share road space safely.
At some point in the day, everyone is a pedestrian. Obeying the law and showing common courtesy can significantly reduce the risk of a crash, and subsequent injuries and fatalities. As warmer weather is upon us and pedestrian traffic increases, motorists are urged to maintain safe speeds and practice other safe driving behaviors.
Lititz Borough Police Department is taking part in this statewide effort to make its community a safer environment, encouraging everyone to share the road safely.
