LITITZ BOROUGH - The LBPD is announcing results of high-visibility presence and focused effort related to the monitoring, and when appropriate, enforcement of the posted 25 MPH speed limit on Kissel Hill Road.
Between August 26 and September 26, 2020 Officers monitored vehicular speed on Kissel Hill a total of 31 occasions for just over 40 total hours. During these times Officers stopped 41 motorists and issued 29 citations. The highest speed recorded during this enforcement period was 70 miles per hour and average speed of those cited was 41 miles per hour.
Two individuals were arrested as a result of these efforts resulting in the following charges; Fleeing or Attempting to Elude an Officer, Recklessly Endangering Another Person, Accident involving Damage to Unattended Vehicle or Property, Driving without a License, Duties at Stop Signs, Reckless Driving, Driving at Safe Speeds, Driving on Roadways Laned for Traffic, Driving Under the Influence of Drugs, Possession of a Small Amount of Marijuana, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, Speeding and Purchase, consumption, possession or transportation of liquor or malt or brewed beverages.
LBPD patrol officers will continue to monitor this location due to the Increases in traffic volume from the road closure and traffic detour.
