FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

A high water hazard was reported at the intersection of South Broad Street (SR0501) / West Marion Street on 10/27/2019 at 10:30 AM.  High standing water closed the south-bound lane of travel on South Broad Street.  This was caused by an accumulation of wet leaves which blocked the stormwater inlets at the intersection.  Lititz Borough Public Works (LBPW) responded and cleared the obstructions which resulted in the standing water quickly subsiding.

We would like to take this opportunity to remind residents of the importance of clearing leaves from around stormwater inlets near their homes, and to abide by the temporary no-parking restrictions on specified dates and times which allow for leaf removal by the LBPW.

No injuries or property damage was reported as a result of this hazard.
