LITITZ BOROUGH - The Internal Revenue Service (IRS) has notified local municipalities that IRS Revenue Officers will be conducting in-person visits in the area during the weeks of August 10th and August 17th, 2026.
Most visits are scheduled in advance, and taxpayers typically receive a letter from the IRS before an appointment. However, in some cases, IRS Revenue Officers may make unannounced visits to taxpayers or third parties as part of their duties.
Please note:
- IRS Revenue Officers will identify themselves and present their official IRS credential.
- They also carry additional government-issued ID if requested.
- Officers assigned to this duty may from other states and will be driving out-of-state vehicles.
If someone claiming to be from the IRS visits your home or business and you are not sure of their identity, do not hesitate to call the Lititz Borough Police Department for assistance in verifying the individual's credentials before sharing any information.
