LITITZ BOROUGH - The LBPD patrol function investigated a crash that occurred on 05/17/2026 at approximately 9:00 PM in the 700 block of South Spruce Street. LBPD officers were dispatched to an unoccupied, disabled Kia Telluride that was parked along the curb facing North on South Spruce Street. There was a trail of fluid and debris on the road and damage to the vehicle consistent with having struck a tree. The driver of the vehicle was located several blocks away, walking back to the vehicle. The driver stated that after turning onto Spruce Street from West Seventh Street, his phone popped off the mount, and while reaching down for the phone, his vehicle left the roadway and struck the tree. The driver was not injured but the vehicle sustained disabling damage and had to be towed.

The driver was cited for Failure to Notify Police of Accident/Damage to Vehicle.
