Update: 05/08/2025, 1:20 pm: The Lancaster County Coroner's Office has determined the cause and manner of death of Wintjen. The cause of death is multiple traumatic injuries and the manner of death is accidental. The LBPD investigation, in coordination with the Coroner's Office, has identified Wintjen died from an accidental fall from her skateboard. There is no information or evidence which indicates a vehicle was involved, either by direct contact or through non-contact intervention. The investigation included physical examination of the scene, review of video footage, interviews, and an autopsy. Information and evidence indicate that Wintjen was riding her skateboard south-bound on Laural Avenue towards East Fourth Avenue. In this direction, Laurel Avenue is on a downward slope. Additionally, the roadway was wet from a recent rainfall. While riding downhill, Wintjen became separated from her skateboard, falling to the ground and suffering fatal injuries from the fall.

Update: 05/05/2025, 1:15 pm: The Lancaster County Coroner's Office has identified Magnolia Wintjen, age 43, of Lititz, as the female. Wintjen was found near the intersection with her skateboard. An autopsy was performed on 05/05/2025. The cause of death was determined to be multiple traumatic injuries and the manner of death is pending further investigation.
LITITZ BOROUGH - On Sunday, May 4, 2025, at approximately 12:04 AM, an LBPD patrol officer located an adult female in the roadway near the intersection of Laurel Avenue and East Fourth Avenue, following a dispatch to that location. The female was suffering from life-threatening injuries, and the officer summoned medical attention immediately. The female was transported by ambulance to the hospital where she died.
The LBPD is investigating this incident along with the Lancaster County Coroner's Office who will determine cause and manner of death. Based on information known at this point in time, including both what is contained in this release, and which is not, there is no reason to believe there is a risk to public safety.
