Please take a moment to review the important update related to alleys in Lancaster Township.

"We have received some calls since out last communication about alley ways. Long story short, alleys do get maintained, but only if they are publicly dedicated. In addition to this, they are managed slightly differently in our operations because they serve primarily the houses immediately adjacent. All our public alleys are named with a letter, Alley A to Alley X.

Residents should keep in mind that PRIVATE alleys, just like private roads, are not the responsibility of the Township to maintain. They need maintained by the HOA in the area, or the adjacent property owners. You can identify private alleys because are often unnamed, unsigned, and/or unpaved.
