Lancaster Township Police Charge Two Individuals in Weis Markets Retail Theft Investigation

Lancaster Township, PA — On July 9, 2026, officers with the Lancaster Township Police Department responded to Weis Markets, located at 1204 Millersville Pike in the Manor Shopping Center, regarding a series of reported shoplifting incidents.

Upon arrival, officers learned that an unidentified male and female had allegedly stolen merchandise from the store on four separate occasions. The total value of the stolen items exceeded $225.

Through further investigation, Lancaster Township Police identified the suspects as Jhaunell Shakur Burnside, of Lancaster, Pennsylvania, and Mya Alize Hidalgo, of Columbia, Pennsylvania.

As a result of the investigation, both individuals were charged with one count of Retail Theft, a Misdemeanor of the First Degree. The charges were filed before the Honorable Mary Mongiovi-Sponaugle of Magisterial District Court 02-2-03 in Lancaster County.

A preliminary hearing has been scheduled for a future date.
