One Night, four DUIs

During the night of August 27, 2026, and continuing into the early morning hours of August 28, 2026, the Lancaster Township Police Department made four arrests for driving under the influence offenses during separate incidents throughout the township.

The first arrest involved Anthony Steven Colon, who was reported to be causing a disturbance at the Sunoco station located in the 1000 block of Columbia Avenue. Officers responded and conducted an investigation, which revealed that Colon had operated a motor vehicle while impaired prior to arriving at the location. Colon was taken into custody and charged with Driving Under the Influence of Alcohol (DUI-A) before being released pending court proceedings.

Later that evening, officers conducted a traffic stop in the 1300 block of Columbia Avenue after observing several Pennsylvania Vehicle Code violations. During the investigation, officers developed probable cause that the driver, Justin Ryan Alemany, was operating his vehicle while impaired. Alemany was taken into custody and charged with Driving Under the Influence of Alcohol (DUI-A). He was later released pending court proceedings.

A short time later, officers received a report of a possibly impaired driver operating a vehicle in the 400 block of South West End Avenue. Officers located the vehicle and made contact with the driver, identified as Darias Madric. During the investigation, officers observed signs of impairment and determined Madric was under the influence of a combination of alcohol and drugs. Madric was taken into custody and charged with Driving Under the Influence (Combination of Alcohol and Drugs). He was later released into the care of a sober adult.

In the early morning hours of August 28, 2026, Lancaster County-Wide Communications received a 911 call from the individual responsible for supervising Madric. The caller reported that Madric had threatened her and forcibly obtained his vehicle keys. Officers immediately responded and searched the area, ultimately locating Madric operating a motor vehicle while still visibly impaired.

Madric was taken into custody for a second time and charged with an additional count of Driving Under the Influence. Following processing, Madric was released to a different sober party, specifically the custody of Lancaster County Prison.

The Lancaster Township Police Department remains committed to removing impaired drivers from our roadways and ensuring the safety of our community. Officers will continue to proactively investigate reports of impaired driving and take appropriate enforcement action against those who place others at risk by choosing to drive under the influence of alcohol or drugs.
