Today, the Lancaster Township Police Department proudly joins our community in celebrating Flag Day—a day dedicated to the enduring symbol of our nation’s strength, unity, and unbreakable spirit.
The American flag represents the ideals that generations of Americans have fought to protect: freedom, justice, courage, and the promise of a better future. Its stars and stripes remind us of the sacrifices made, the challenges overcome, and the unwavering belief in the greatness of this nation.
As we honor the flag today, we also reaffirm our commitment to treating it with the respect it deserves. In partnership with our community, we maintain Flag Retirement Bins throughout the township to ensure worn or damaged flags can be properly and respectfully retired in accordance with tradition. These disposal boxes are available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, providing a dignified and convenient way for residents to retire flags that have reached the end of their service.
We invite all members of the community to make use of this service to ensure that every flag is retired with the honor it deserves.
May our flag always wave as a beacon of hope, liberty, and unity. God bless America.
