Starting today, March 18, 2026, the Lancaster Township Police Department is joining law‑enforcement agencies across Lancaster County and the Commonwealth in a coordinated Aggressive Driving Enforcement Campaign. This statewide initiative focuses on reducing crashes, injuries, and fatalities caused by unsafe driving behaviors.
This campaign is part of a broader Pennsylvania effort involving more than 300 municipal departments and the Pennsylvania State Police. Thanks to grant funding received from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA), the Lancaster Township Police Department will be putting additional officers on the street during key times of the day at no additional cost to Lancaster Township residents.
Officers will be paying special attention to:
• Speeding
• Distracted driving
• Following too closely
• Driving too fast for conditions
• Work‑zone violations
• Other forms of aggressive or unsafe operation
Enforcement will continue for several weeks as agencies work to keep roadways safer for everyone, and any driver stopped for aggressive driving during this enforcement period could receive a citation.
Stay alert, slow down, and drive responsibly. Your safety — and the safety of your neighbors — depends on it.
