Throughout Read Across America Week, leaders, educators, community members, and district staff visited schools across Lancaster to read aloud to students. Each visit served as a powerful reminder that literacy is the foundation for learning and growth.
Reading builds confidence.
It strengthens communication.
It opens doors to new ideas and new perspectives.
Most importantly, it reminds us that literacy is a shared responsibility. We all play a part in helping students develop a lifelong love of reading—one that extends far beyond a single week in March.
That’s the power of reading.
And that’s the power of community.
We are truly grateful to the School District of Lancaster and Burrowes Elementary School for welcoming us and for helping us build strong, positive connections with our youngest community members.
