The East Lansdowne Police Department encourages every firearm owner in our community to take a few minutes to review how firearms are stored at home and in vehicles.

Safe storage helps prevent accidents, unauthorized access, theft, and suicide. Gun Storage Check Week reminds gun owners to “Make Sure It’s Secure®” by using responsible storage options such as cable locks, lock boxes, full-size safes, and secure vehicle storage.

Parents and guardians are also encouraged to have age-appropriate conversations with children about firearm safety. This short Project Child-Safe video is a helpful resource for families and a great conversation on the topic:
