East Lansdowne Police Department K-9 Unit
The East Lansdowne Police Department is proud to introduce its K-9 Unit, a specialized resource dedicated to enhancing public safety and proactive policing within our community.
The unit is led by Detective Sergeant Kevin Myers, who serves as the handler for Police K-9 “Bullet.” K-9 Officer Bullet is an 18-month-old Yellow Labrador Retriever rescue dog trained in the detection of firearms and munitions. His unique skill set allows the department to proactively identify and remove illegal weapons from our streets, supporting both enforcement efforts and community safety initiatives.
Together, Detective Sergeant Myers and K-9 Bullet completed extensive training and certification through the Sector K9 Foundation in Texas. Their certification reflects a high level of discipline, reliability, and operational readiness in firearms detection and deployment.
The East Lansdowne Police Department extends its sincere appreciation to Wesley Keeling of the Sector K9 Foundation and Rick Jones of the Trainer Borough Police Department for their invaluable guidance, mentorship, and continued support throughout the development of this program.
The K-9 Unit represents the department’s commitment to innovation, professionalism, and its mission of serving the community with vigilance.
