I am proud to announce the East Lansdowne Police Department's historic transition to an all-full-time, career law-enforcement agency with the addition of four full-time police officers. This addition will bring the agency to a total of eight career officers.
Please join us in welcoming Officer William Schailey, Officer Bhavin Patel and Officer Alexia Williams to their new full-time positions with the Department.
Officer Owen Cosgrove will officially join our full-time ranks following his recovery from an injury sustained in the line of duty. We wish Officer Cosgrove a complete and speedy recovery and look forward to welcoming him back to service.
This milestone represents a major investment in the safety, stability, and future of our community. A dedicated, full-time career workforce will strengthen patrol coverage, improve continuity of service, support advanced training and professional development, and allow our officers to build lasting relationships with the residents and businesses we so proudly serve. It will also provide the organizational stability needed to maintain high professional standards and continue advancing our accreditation and community-policing efforts.
This is more than an increase in staffing—it is the beginning of a new era for policing in East Lansdowne.
To our newly appointed full-time officers: congratulations, welcome, and thank you for choosing to serve our community.
To our elected officials; I am deeply grateful for the confidence you have placed in me, our officers, and the direction of this Department. I recognize the seriousness of this investment and remain committed to ensuring that it produces meaningful and lasting benefits for every member of our community. It is an honor to be at your service.
Sincerely,
James Cadden
Chief of Police
